On 12 August, there will be a partial solar eclipse in the Netherlands. The Moon will pass between the Sun and the Earth, causing it to grow darker.
The eclipse will be 90 per cent in the Netherlands (so a small sliver of the Sun will remain visible). In northern Spain, the eclipse will be total.
The eclipse will begin at 19:17 and reach its peak (90 per cent obscured) at 20:11.
Please do not look directly at the sun with the naked eye. This is very harmful to your eyes. Special eclipse glasses are available so you can view the solar eclipse safely.
